>Does my child have to know all four strokes to pass the swim test?
-No, but must make it across the pool without holding the side or lane rope.
>How long is the hold on the $200 "volunteer" check? July 15 when the swim season is over.
>What happens if we meet the volunteer requirement? Your $200 check is voided and destroyed.
>What is the cost of the swim suit? Approximately Girls $55 Boys $40
>Are meets mandatory? 2 meets mandatory.
>We can only arrive at swim meets after 5pm. Can we arrive late? If your child is not at the meet by 4:30, then he or she cannot swim. If your child arrives on time but you can’t arrive until later, we will add you to the 2nd volunteer shift.
>Is each swimmer automatically signed up for all swim meets? NO, you must register for each meet 1 week prior.
>If we don't attend any swim meets, do we have to pay the $200 volunteer deposit? YES. In addition, you will not be allowed to participate the following year since the team is for practice and competition.
>How much do I have to volunteer?
-Every meet your swimmer attends (at least 2 meets attending).
>Do we have to buy a team swim suit? YES. A team suit is required at all swim meets. Houston Swim Shop: Laser Blue/green.
>Do we have to go to all practices? No.
>Can we attend a different practice time? Strong swimmers can swim up an age group and weak swimmers can swim down an age group. (On coach's recommendation and approval.)

- Checkin starts 4 pm - deadline is 4:30

Weather Cancellation Procedures
If thunder 15 minutes before your scheduled practice time, then practice is cancelled for that session.
Example: 1) Thunder at 5:30 = session is cancelled. 2) 6:02 there was thunder but no thunder afterwards. 6:30 session is on.
If 1st and 2nd sessions are cancelled, then the 3rd is automatically cancelled.
Rain? If light rain without thunder then swim practice is on. If there are large bands of storms on their way, we will most likely cancel all practices for the day.
