National Chess Master Jeffrey Ashton, founder of Panda Chess Academy.
Jeffrey has hosted over 800 tournaments and instructed thousands of scholastic chess players. The Chess Panda core values are Safety, Focus, and Sportsmanship. Panda Chess Academy offers in-person group and private classes and weekly USCF rated tournaments at Panda Chess Academy, as well as online classes.
He received his title of "Master" after his 70th tournament during Junior year in High School. The United States Chess Federation (US Chess) awards the national master title to any player who reaches a rating of 2200. Less than one percent of rated players hold the title.
He received a full chess scholarship at The University of Texas at Dallas.
During his freshman year, he helped his team win the first FINAL FOUR OF CHESS. He won all of his games against higher rated players. The Final Four teams were University of Texas at Dallas, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Harvard, and Stanford.
